About ME

Deb Johnson, ChFC, CDFA has been involved in the financial services industry in an advisory capacity for over 20 years. She received her designation as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and is certified as a Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) through the Institute for Certified Divorce Financial Analysts.  Deb is also a mediator and strongly embraces helping clients create equitable settlements which assists them in building a ‘restructured post-divorce family’.

Deb is the founding member of the Divorce Resource Centre of Colorado, Inc.   She is well known for her work in the area of divorce financial planning and analysis, as well as her pioneering work in the area of Collaborative Divorce. Deb works with clients before, during, and post-divorce to assist them with making informed decisions relative to the complex financial issues they face at the time of divorce; and empowers them to rebuild financially going forward, post-divorce. She is also a settlement consultant and works in the area of divorce among special needs families.

In addition to litigation support and mediation, Deb strongly embraces the Collaborative Law concept. She is a founding member of the Colorado Collaborative Divorce  Professionals (CCDP), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and serves as Treasurer of the organization. She sits on the Board of Directors of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals – (IACP).

She has been proactive in creating public awareness of Collaborative Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution in Colorado through her participation in various speaking venues including radio talk shows, newspaper and magazine interviews, and presentations to various professional organizations.  Deb has authored a chapter discussing the role of the Financial Professional on the Collaborative Team in a book entitled “Collaborative Law: A New Model for Dispute Resolution”, Bradford Publishing.

Deb is a member of the Society for Financial Services Professionals, the Colorado Bar Association, the Colorado Collaborative Divorce Professionals, and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
