Motivational interviewing (MI) is a client-centered, goal-oriented approach designed to enhance intrinsic motivation for change. You will learn how to help clients create a path to move forward in their negotiation and divorce and move past their feelings of ambivalence or resistance to creative problem solving. Attendees will learn how to help their clients get past stuck and onto solutions using the skills of goal identification, identifying the barriers to the goal, building motivation, and collaborative problem solving toward a mutually beneficial goal.

We will learn from certified MI trainers Dr. Cindy Wang Morris and Kathleen Moreira of the CU Anschutz team about how using MI can transform how you interact with your clients to guide them towards lasting resolution.
