About ME
Laura has been working in family law since 2009 and has come to appreciate helping clients through difficult and emotional times. Before becoming one of the first Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals in the state, Laura spent 15 years as a family law paralegal. She routinely assists in complex litigation matters and helped initiate new family law attorneys into the complexities of this area of law. Now, as an LLP, her extensive experience in family law has been invaluable when assisting clients dealing with divorce, legal separation and disputes over parenting responsibilities and child support.
In 2021, Laura began volunteering on the Colorado Supreme Court subcommittees dedicated to bridging the gap in access to justice through the creation of the Licensed Legal Paraprofessional program. Laura has been advocating for this new profession for several years and testified before the Colorado Supreme Court on its behalf in 2022.
Laura is a member of the Colorado Bar and several other Bar Associations, as well as the Family Law Section of the Bar. She volunteers as Co-Chair of the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association's LLP Section, educating paralegals about the profession and promoting the interests of LLPs within the legal community. She was recently appointed to the Colorado Supreme Court’s LLP Oversight Committee – one of only two non-attorneys on that counsel.
