About Me
I began my legal career handling commercial real estate development and litigation in Nevada. Upon returning to Colorado, I focused on general business transactions and helped numerous local business owners navigate a multitude of issues including employment contracts, business finances, succession planning, non-disclosure and non-compete agreements, among others.
In 2005, I began handling family law matters first, to assist a family law colleague who needed a bit of help to address complex business structures within a divorce case he had at the time. That one case became another and another until family law comprised the majority of my case load.
For nearly twenty years, I have focused my efforts on domestic relations and increasingly, on how we as domestic relations attorneys can better utilize our training to reduce conflict and help our clients craft healthy and happy lives.
My perspective is one of hope, tempered by years of real world experience. In each case, whether it be a family coming together for the first time or an established family moving forward in a new form with new partners, new step parents and step children, it is important to keep sight of the things that are most important. First, to treat others respectfully, as we wish to be treated. Second, to educate ourselves, as the unknown is the greatest informer of fear. And third, to conduct ourselves with honesty and integrity.
