About ME

Jennifer has been trained in Collaborative Law since 2020 and has worked with many clients to achieve favorable results through that model of practice, particularly in cases involving complex financial estates.

Jennifer has been licensed in Colorado since 2000, when she began her career as a transactional and litigation attorney in several large, national firms. Unique among family law attorneys for her diverse legal background, Jennifer gained valuable experience early in her career working on mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and complex, commercial cases. Jennifer was first introduced to family law in her role as a staff attorney at the Colorado Court of Appeals, where she drafted appellate opinions in family law and dependency and neglect cases. Motivated by a desire to make a meaningful difference in her clients’ lives, Jennifer has practiced family law exclusively since 2016.

In addition to her practice at Schaffner Law, Jennifer is a Board Member of the Colorado Collaborative Divorce Professionals, has served as a mock trial coach for Kent Denver School, and is an active member of the Colorado Bar Association Self-Represented Appellate Program, which matches qualified applicants with pro bono attorneys to pursue appeals in the Colorado Court of Appeals.
