About ME

Amy has been licensed as an attorney in Colorado since 2003. She has diverse experience working in private practice firms as well as in the public sector. Prior to opening her own firm, she was an attorney and mediator for Conscious Family Law in Boulder for seven years. She has also worked as a contractor for the Office of the Alternate Defense Counsel, and at the University of Colorado, where she negotiated sponsored research agreements on behalf of graduate departments and institutes. She began her legal career in environmental law. After working as an associate at an environmental and water law firm in Boulder, she was an Assistant Attorney General in the natural resources and environment section of the Colorado AG’s office for eight years where she provided general counsel to state agencies.

Amy’s transition to family law resulted from a desire to support individuals and families through challenging personal circumstances following her own experience with divorce and co-parenting. She believes wholeheartedly that mediation or a collaborative process for family law disputes provide the best opportunity for clients to move forward in their lives without the damaging costs inherent with litigation, the impacts of which may be felt for years. She encourages clients to establish realistic expectations at the outset and to take actions consistent with their goals and intentions for the outcome of the case. She is mindful not just of clients' immediate goals but how specific decisions may impact them and the family at large long-term. She greatly appreciates being able to make a difference in people's lives and to do work that aligns with her personal values.
